Yellow sapphire is the gemstone of Jupiter. Yellow sapphire will prove very beneficial if Jupiter in a nativity is lord of auspicious houses. If such Jupiter is afflicted in any way, wearing of yellow sapphire will neutralize the consequent evil effects and will provide protection to the native.

For the Aries Ascendant – Mesha Lagna
Jupiter is lord of the 9th (a trine) and 12th houses. On account of his lordship of a trine, he is considered a benefic for this Ascendant. By wearing a yellow sapphire, the native of this Ascendant will acquire knowledge of scriptures, will become more intelligent, gain wealth, name and fame and good fortune, and the father of the native will enjoy good health and be long lived. The beneficial results will be more pronounced if yellow sapphire is worn in the major period of Jupiter. For the Taurus Ascendant – Vrisha Lagna
Jupiter is lord of the 8th and 11th houses. According to principles of Hindu astrology, Jupiter is not considered an auspicious planet for this Ascendant. Apart from Venus, the lord of this Ascendant is an enemy of Jupiter. Still if Jupiter as lord of the 11th, is in the Ascendant, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 9th or 11th (in his own sign), yellow sapphire can be worn with advantage in the major period of Jupiter.

For the Gemini Ascendant – Mithun Lagna
Jupiter is lord of the 7th and 10th (both quadrants) houses. He, therefore, suffers from Kendra-adhipati Dosha and is also a maraka. However, if as lord of 10th, he is in the Ascendant, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 10th, (in his own house causing Hamsa Yoga) or 9th and 11th, yellow sapphire can be worn with advantage in the major period of Jupiter. Therefore, it would not be advisable to wear yellow sapphire for the natives of this Ascendant who are seriously ill, are in their old age or are those in whose birth chart long life is not indicated.

For the Libra Ascendant  – Tula Lagna
Jupiter is lord of the 3rd and the 6th – two inauspicious houses. According to the principles of Hindu Astrology, Jupiter is not, therefore, considered to be an auspicious planet for this Ascendant. Besides these facts, Venus, lord of this Ascendant, is an enemy of Jupiter. In these circumstances it would normally not be advisable for the natives of this Ascendant to wear a yellow sapphire.

For the Scorpio Ascendant – Vrishchika Lagna
Jupiter is lord of the 2nd and 5th (a trine) houses and is, therefore, a beneficial planet for this Ascendant. Besides this, Jupiter and Mars (the lord of the Ascendant) are mutual friends. Jupiter is lord of the Ascendant and the 4th house. For the Capricorn Ascendant  – Makar Lagna
Jupiter is lord of the 3rd and 12th houses-both inauspicious. ‘Uttam kalamrit’ is however, of the view that inspite of being lord of the 3rd and 12th. Jupiter is a yoga giving planet for this Ascendant. We do not really agree with this view as this is against the Parashari principles. We would, therefore, recommend that the natives of this Ascendant should wear yellow sapphire, if  necessary, only in the major period of Jupiter if he is in his own sign in the 3rd or 12th.

For the Aquarius Ascendant  – Kumbh Lagna
Jupiter is lord of the 2nd and 12th houses, both wealth giving houses. However Saturn lord of this Ascendant, is not a friend of Jupiter. Still yellow sapphire can be worn in the major period of Jupiter and the native would get happiness from children,  gains of wealth, success in the educational sphere. But Jupiter, being lord of the 2nd which is also a maraka sthana, can also prove to be a strong maraka. This should be kept in mind.

For the Pisces Ascendant  – Meen Lagna
Jupiter is lord of the Ascendant and the 10th and is, therefore, a very auspicious planet for the Pisces Ascendant. Wearing a yellow sapphire will enable the native to enjoy good health, long life,  name and fame recognition by government and the society, gains of wealth and promotion in the professional and political career. It will prove doubly beneficial if yellow sapphire is worn with red coral, the gemstone of Mars, the lord of the 2nd and 9th.

Yellow  sapphire should be worn in a ring of gold in the second finger (Index finger) of the right hand on the morning of a Thursday of Shukla Paksha after performing the usual rituals. Yellow sapphire should be of at least 3 carats.
